Made to Intangibly Touch the Lives of Others

I am Jazmyn Hobdy and I have taken this journey called life into the mental health and counseling field as a professional, advocate, supporter, and life-long learner.
About

ABOUT

Thought Captivity

In an overly emotionally, mentally, and financially demanding and draining world, Thought Captivity creates a space for the alignment of mental health, offering affordable rates. Thought Captivity places focus on accessibility, growth, and transformation from the inside out.

Trajectory

Ultimately, we would like to continue intangibly touch the lives of others by training counselors and advocating on behalf of those that do not have access to mental health services. We have received the best training, education, and consultation, so we would like to provide that for others who want to operate in the field. We would also like to provide interim mental health means for those that are unable to access mental health services. There is always a way to start and maintain your healing and we would like to create those avenues.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based psychotherapy used to help individuals process and heal from trauma, distressing life experiences, and anxiety-related conditions. By using bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, tapping, or sound—EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck memories so they become less emotionally disruptive.

Trauma-Informed Modalities

Trauma-informed modalities are therapeutic approaches that recognize the widespread impact of trauma and prioritize safety, empowerment, cultural sensitivity, and choice in the healing process. These approaches focus on understanding how trauma affects the brain and body, reducing re-traumatization, and supporting clients in building resilience, regulation, and meaningful recovery.

Transitions of Life

Life transitions therapy supports individuals navigating major changes such as career shifts, identity development, loss, relationships, and personal growth. By integrating modalities like Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), this approach helps clients re-author their life stories, understand the different “parts” of themselves, and build compassion, clarity, and confidence during times of change.
